LACE Ministry

(Ladies after Christ's Example)

LACE is a women's ministry team that stands for Ladies After Christ's Example. All women of the church are welcome to participate. As sisters in Christ it is important to build community and serve with one another. One way LACE does this is through a yearly ministry called secret sisters. This allows them to get to know each other on a deeper level and be a partner in prayer for a year. LACE also serves the immediate family by hosting Ladies Day and Ladies Retreats.

Outside of the church family, LACE serves a variety of organizations both locally and abroad through Box of Love. Through this ministry they have been able to serve organizations such as Mountain States Children's Home, World Bible School, Dolphin House and more.

Missions

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea Samaria, and to the end of the earth." (Acts 1:8ESV).

Missions start in our local community and expand out to the ends of the earth. In Montrose we support a Trail Life Troop. We  are currently supporting missionaries in the Philippines and Africa as, Mountain States Children's Home, and the Moab, UT Church of Christ congregation.

Beliefs

Father
Son & Spirit

We believe that there is one, true God who created the heavens, the earth, and everything that exists.  We believe that God is Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit in perfect unity and oneness, and that God in three persons has been present from all eternity, before the creation of the universe.

Source
of All Evil

We believe that there is evil and that the source of all evil is Satan.  Satan has been in opposition to God since humans first walked this earth.  We believe it was Satan who introduced sin to Adam and Eve and has tempted and incited all humanity to sin, bringing spiritual death into this world and to individual humans.  We believe that humans are born sinless, but with free will to choose the way of God and righteousness, or to choose to sin and follow Satan.

Salvation is in Jesus alone

We believe that all humans sin and fall short of the glory of God and thus all humans are in need of a Savior, who is Jesus.  We believe that salvation is in Jesus alone, through His atoning sacrifice, His death on the cross.   It is the choice of each human to sin that separates us from God and it is the choice to believe in Christ and obey the commandments of Scripture that reunites one with their God.

We believe that Jesus is the Son of the one, true God, that He died on the Cross to fulfill the will and plan of God (Acts 2:22-24), that He was buried, and rose from the dead on the third day.  Through His death and resurrection, He brought to mankind victory over sin and death, and makes the hope of heaven sure and certain.

Made one with Christ

We believe in the necessity of obedience to the commands of God as given in the New Testament Scriptures.  Obedience is not “earning” or “working” one’s salvation, it is trusting God to save and redeem when one submits to the will and the work of God.  Specifically, we believe this includes the essentiality of confessing Jesus as our Savior and being baptized (immersed) into Christ (Romans 6:3-10).  We believe that baptism is not a “work humans do,” rather it is simple obedience and submission to the command of God, and it is in the waters of baptism that God washes away our sins and reunites us to Himself.  We believe that one emerges from the waters of baptism forgiven of all sin, made one with Christ, and has received the gift of God’s Holy Spirit.

The Bible is the inspired word of God.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God, without error or fault.  We believe that the Old Testament regulations were fulfilled and taken out of the way by Christ at His death (Romans 8:1-4, Colossians 2:14-15), and it is the New Testament that governs life and worship for all mankind.  We believe that there will be a judgment day and that all will be judged, and the New Testament and our compliance to its teachings and commands will determine one’s eternal destiny.

Jesus is coming back

We believe that Jesus will come again, and when He comes all will be judged and eternity will begin.  All will spend eternity either in heaven or in hell, thus the need to spread the Gospel to all people is urgent and imperative.  We believe the New Testament Church is the family of God, comprised of all who have believed and obeyed New Testament teaching

Trust and obey

We believe God is good, Jesus is the one and only way of salvation, heaven and hell are real, and each one will be saved or lost depending on their obedience to God and His commands or upon their refusal to believe in Jesus and obey New Testament Scripture.
